A momentous occasion took place as Angels Initiative hosted Angels Day Indonesia on June 24-25, 2023, at the vibrant Hotel Harris Kelapa Gading. This remarkable event has set ablaze a renewed enthusiasm among medical professionals and experts, igniting a passion for elevating stroke care to unprecedented heights across the nation.

The event's atmosphere was electric right from the start, as attendees were captivated by the visionary Jan Van der Merwe, founder of Angels Initiative. He shared his burning ambition to transform stroke care in Indonesia, setting the tone for an incredible two-day journey of collaboration and innovation.

Kicking off the event, Dr. dr. Yout Savithri, MARS, Hospital Referral Management, and Monitoring Coordinator, inspired the crowd with the remarkable vision of the Ministry of Health. With an unwavering commitment, the Ministry aims to ensure that heart, stroke, kidney, and cancer services reach every city/regional hospital in Indonesia. This momentous mission fueled an unwavering determination among the attendees to drive change and enhance stroke management nationwide.

Dr. Ita Muharram, the dynamic moderator, skillfully guided the day's discussions, infusing each session with unparalleled energy. The participants were immersed in the unfolding narrative of stroke care in Indonesia, from the current challenges presented by Dr. Adin Nulkhasanah to the extraordinary Hyperacute phase insights shared by Prof. Carlos Molina and Dr. Lisda Amalia. Day 2 of Angels Day Indonesia was equally exhilarating as attendees delved into pre-hospital stroke care, learning from the exemplary EMS Mataram City Hospital by Dr. Arie Tejamukti. Dr. Adin Nulkhasanah's captivating insights on Quality Monitoring in stroke care, along with the introduction of RES-Q, added fuel to the already blazing fire of enthusiasm.

As a crowning moment of inspiration and celebration, the World Stroke Organization (WSO) and Angels Initiative, recognizing and honouring hospitals across the nation for their exceptional contributions to stroke care. In this event, 15 deserving hospitals receiving the coveted Gold, Platinum, and Diamond awards that represented a beacon of excellence, reflecting the relentless efforts of these hospitals to elevate stroke management in Indonesia to global standards. These accolades are bestowed upon hospitals that have demonstrated excellence in providing stroke care and treatment, backed by tangible data and evidence that align with the rigorous WSO criteria. Further, hopefully this ceremony marked a transformative milestone in stroke care, igniting a nationwide movement towards a future where stroke management stands at the forefront of medical excellence.

Experience sharing sessions by representatives from Murni Teguh Memorial Hospital and M. Djamil Hospital Padang showcased remarkable practices in stroke care, setting the benchmark for excellence and inspiring others to follow suit.

The interactive simulation workshop was the finale session, with participants taking center stage as enthusiastic volunteers. Together, they unraveled the complexities of stroke management, forging bonds of collaboration and sparking a renewed determination to elevate stroke care to unprecedented heights.

Angels Day Indonesia surpassed all expectations, with 57 passionate neurologists, 42 dedicated doctors, and 44 caring nurses from 64 hospitals across Indonesia coming together as a formidable force for change. The unparalleled enthusiasm witnessed during these two days reaffirms Indonesia's commitment to revolutionizing stroke care and forging a healthier, brighter future for all stroke patients.
